Thanjavur Church

POONDI MATHA KOIL

There is a famous Catholic Church, the Poondi Virgin Mary Basilica. This is 35 kilometres from Tiruchirappalli and 20 kilometres from Thanjavur. People of all faiths visit this sacred Church.

SCHWARTZ CHURCH

During the 18th century Raja Serfoji ruled Thanjavur. In the palace garden, the king built this Church as his token of love and affection for the then Rev. C.V. Schwartz, of the Danish Mission.
